Our customer Abigail is based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. She contacted us and was looking for curtains or blinds for an internal shading solution that could assist her in reducing energy bills and to allow her very cold room to feel warmer during the chilly winter months. When the rising cost of living is in everyone’s thought, adding blinds or curtains can be an excellent way to reduce heat loss.
The customer was also interested in motorising her shading solution so that she could link them with her home automation system and they could automatically open and close at specific times of day even when she was not at home.
After discussions in the clients home with her regarding her specific requirements and the various options from our extensive range of blinds and curtains Abigail decided that from an aesthetical and functional point of view she did not want to go down the traditional curtain route.
Instead she favoured the look and functionality of roller blinds, more specifically motorised roller blinds as she wanted them to be quick and simple to use. We therefore installed battery operated roller blinds which have a lithium battery that last on one charge for ten to twelve months. This motorised electric blind solution successfully reduced the heat loss from the room and was aesthetically pleasing. The customer programmed the blinds so that they opened in the morning and closed at dusk.
